Dr. Sara Boren is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and attended the University of Central Arkansas receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2007. Dr Boren earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Boren has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and has traveled the world learning about the most up to date materials and techniques to deliver world class dentistry to her patients. She understands the value and importance of continued education. One thing that sets her apart from other dentists is that she takes at least 100 hours of continued education per year, 5 times the amount required by the state of Tennessee.
Dr. Boren volunteers for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Give Back A Smile program. This program connects domestic violence survivors in Tennessee with a cosmetic dentist who provides free consultation and dental treatment to restore their smile.
Dr. Boren is an active member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Second District Dental Society. She also participates in local study clubs, the Oral Design and Implant Study Club and the East Tennessee Academy of Dental Practice Administration.
Prior to becoming a practicing dentist in Knoxville, TN, Dr. Boren previously practiced in Denver, Colorado. She and her husband, Tommy, realized that they missed the water and green of their native South. They love spending time on the lake and enjoying the Smokies with their daughter, Nora. The Borens are expecting a baby boy in September 2019 and are happy to call east Tennessee home.
